Yesterday I got to pull off a special event at the church for our 1st through 3rd graders. It was something just for the youngest elementary kids, with lots of emphasis on WATER. From our interactive, demonstrative story time; to a special art project; to finally playing on the inflatable water slide; everything was water, water, water. In fact it was called the Summer Cool Camp, and it was indeed a cool event.
Anyways, as I was standing yesterday wearing my swimsuit with a sno-cone in one hand and a water gun to shoot kids with in the other hand; a thought crossed my mind.
I get paid for this!?! Wow, if my college professors could see me
now!
I really am so fortunate to do something that I really love, and it’s not lost on me that most people can’t say that about their jobs. Thank the Lord that I don’t dread going to work in the morning, and that I have found a job that for the most part brings much joy to my life. It hasn’t always been the way, and I’m sure it might not always be this way. However, I’m thankful for what I have today.
