Ever heard of this movie? The King of Kong, A Fistful of Quarters

I saw the Ebert & Roeper review this weekend, and I’m slightly fascinated. It’s basically a real-life Best in Show type of movie. What’s fascinating to me is that there are people who give their lives to things like this. Give their stinking life to playing Donkey Kong? Are you kidding me? With all the violence and danger in the world, sometimes I think things like this are the most telling. Have we lost so much meaning for mankind, that grown men can find purpose and satisfaction in a 1980′s cartoonish video game? I have a feeling this movie will be a sad commentary on the United States, without even meaning to.
