Summer Camp Experiences

July 8, 2008 — Leave a comment

Sorry for the blog absence all week. I’ve been at summer camp! We head to summer camp just about every July for a week, and this year is no different. I’m privileged to take the kids to Camp Dry Gulch in Oklahoma. Besides the camp residing in the greatest state in the union (wonder where I’m from???), it’s a pretty swell camp all on it’s own.

There are those that love planning, organizing, and orchestrating their own church camp experience. I, however, am not one of those people, so instead I take the kids to the best Christian Summer Camp money can buy. It’s fantastic! It’s the only reason I would ever take 44 kids on a 9-hour one-way bus trip (read that again… 9 freaking hours!) There are water slides, horse back riding, tubing on the lake, go-carts, arcades, and games games games; as well as some great chapel experiences each and every night. Everything they do at Camp Dry Gulch is A+. It’s also a great time to bring along a few ‘sponsors’ with me; and just hang out. We eat together, play with the kids, eat some more, go swimming with kids, and finally hang out and eat some more. Somewhere in there we soak other church sponsors with water guns…

Hopefully next week I’ll get back to bringing you the wonderfully curious blog postings you all have grown accustomed to. Have a Great Week!
