This morning way before I rolled out of bed, my wife left the house to attend a super boring work-related conference in Amarillo. She’ll be back late Friday night, but until then it’s just me and the three kiddos. We’re already off to a dubious start. We woke up late, then I let the kids eat cereal while I snuck in a shower only to have my daughter fling milk all over the dining room. I’m not sure what she was thinking, but was finally able to clean it up in time to pack some lunches. After we got to the PDO where they’re camping out for the day, I realized that I never brushed my daughters hair. Is that a big deal? I don’t think so, but I’m sure Mom does. Haven’t I been here before?
The boys are giddy at their mother being out of town. It’s like they know that things will be different, and the boys keep whispering about what we’ll do when Mom is gone. I’ve already blogged about how “Daddy is so Cool” but I’m worried I can’t live up to the hype this time. Should I be worried?
