Orange Week Giveaway

UPDATE: We Have a Winner!

/////////////////////////////////////

I’ve made mention of it with almost every post this week, but don’t forget that I’m collecting comments from all my Orange Week post; and will be giving away one FREE Digital Cue Box on Tuesday.  What’s a Cue Box?

CUE Box is designed to strategically connect what happens at church with what happens at home. By providing CUE Boxes for your families, you can offer them easy-to-use tools that will help them have spiritual conversations and experiences together.

Every CUE Box includes:

  • A DVD with an original 15-minute production from the CUE Box cast, and a music video of the month’s virtue song.
  • A personal-sized virtue movie poster that kids can hang on the wall, the fridge, or use as a book cover. Turn it over and there’s a Bible story that parents and kids can read together and discuss at bedtime.
  • A mystery widget designed to help parents and kids interact as they look for ways to put the virtue into action.
  • Five collectible cards with illustrations and cool facts related to the Bible stories the child is learning at church.
  • Every CUE Box offers each family full access to the Studio252.tv website.

The CUE Box comes in two different forms: a physical box and an electronic version. The electronic version can be accessed through Studio252.tv. Everything that comes in the box is available for download, except the mystery widget.

The Cue Box is a great tool to help families continue the conversations they have a church…from home!  All you have to do to win is leave a comment.  Say something witty.  Say something encouraging.  Say something sarcastic.  Doesn’t matter what you say, just say something.  And yes, you can enter multiple times.  Leave a comment on every post, and you’ll get multiple entries!  Easy, easy, easy as pie!

Start right now, and leave a comment today!

And be sure to visit all the post from this week:

The Family Side of Orange Change

Trying too Hard

Have you met the guy that tries too hard? He’s the guy that is always angling for attention, always trying to hit a home run, always wanting to be the most important thing around. The guy that tries too hard is rarely happy just being himself. He has failed to realize that all anyone wants from him, is for him to be himself. He works so hard to think “outside the box” that he often times fails to do anything “inside the box.” I’ve been this guy, and at times I still revert back to this shallow character. However, I’ve learned that being myself is my greatest asset. In fact, it’s the only thing that only I can do.

I’ve learned over time that success breeds an atmosphere of change. I’ve learned that working “inside the box” really, really hard will eventually lead to me having opportunities to work “outside the box.” I’ve learned that when I try too hard, I actually limit myself. I’ve learned to just be myself. It’s scary, no doubt. But being myself is going to have to be enough!

Deuteronomy 31:8 It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.

Beyond: A Vision for Tomorrow

This past weekend at Trinity Church was momentous in the history of our church.  This Palm Sunday saw the launch of the Beyond Project.  We are launching out into a new building project, but it’s more than that.  It’s not about the buildings, the improvements, or a chance to have more space.  It’s about the fulfilling the vision of our church to reach the next generations.  We’ve labeled it the Beyond Project, out of Deuteronomy 30:11, Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or BEYOND your reach.”

The plans have been in the works for well over 3 years, and this weekend the ‘cat was let out of the bag’ (so to speak) and it was revealed to our church body.  It was a massive effort to get the word out to our church body, with packets of information distributed to over 4,500 families that attend our church.  Most packets were handed out to families that attended our weekend services, but that was not all.  Later in the day over 200 people took the remaining Beyond packets into the community, and hand delivered them to those families that were not in attendance.  It was a promotional blitz of epic proportions!

There was a write-up in the local paper on Monday morning, (albiet not very accurate in it’s reporting…) and the church and families are a buzz with anticipation of how this is going to all roll out of the next few weeks, into the next few years.  As the Children’s Pastor, I’m most excited that the drive behind this entire project is to create more space, and better environments for our children and families.  It’s going to be awesome!

Here is a video that is about 5 minutes long, but you can visit www.beyondtrinity.com for all the higher quality videos, images, FAQ’s, Vision, History of Trinity, and just about anything else you could need related to the Beyond Project at Trinity Church!

Sunday Prayers: Seeing With God’s Eyes

1 Samuel 16:7 For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart

There are so many more things happening on Sunday Morning then I can see with my physical eyes.  It’s important that I put myself in a place to see things the way God sees them.  I know that my reaction to things is burdened by my flesh, and it is my prayer that I let God use me each weekend to see the spiritual side of things.  This is super hard for me, promise!

I pray that I will see God’s children as he sees his children, that I will react to others the way God would react to them, and that I will forgive others the way God forgives them.  Please Lord, give me the eyes of you.  Help me to be the instrument and vessel that you need this morning!

This is part of the discussion started HERE, and HERE, and HERE, and HERE and HERE and concludes the Sunday Morning Prayer Series.

    Sunday Prayers: Not Getting Lost

James 3:1 Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness

This is the one prayer that always hits the closest to home.  My job is working with people in the church.  It’s my calling, my passion, and part of my life purpose, yet…it’s also my job.  I have to guard myself against having a business-like attitude towards God’s work and His people.

I pray that God helps me to not get lost in the hustle and bustle of staffing rooms, organizing environments, and teaching large groups of children.  I pray that God will give me wisdom about how to effectively pastor the children, parents, and volunteers that I will interact with each morning.  There is the potential for life-change in every conversation I have with somebody each weekend, and I do not want to miss the opportunities that I’m given.

Thank you Jesus, that you’ve given me this unique position to influence families each and every week, and I pray that I never lose sight of the privilege afforded to me to partake in God’s redeeming plan for mankind!

This is part of the discussion started HERE, and HERE, and HERE, and HERE continues the Sunday Morning Prayer Series.
