Never Ceases to Amaze Me

Ever heard of Pastor Randall Radic? This pastor admits to fleecing his flock, but a twist gets him released early.

And if he can almost pull off a heist like this; just think of the other skeletons in his closet. Of course for all the skeletons, you can read about it in the book idea he’s peddling, and on his blog.

Not My Space

I’ve always had problems with the MySpace phenomenon. I guess I’ve never liked MySpace for the same reasons I’ve never been in to ‘chatting’ online. (I know, I know… I have a blog. But it includes no pictures and I never chat via message postings.) I recently read this article on Dallasnews.com; and it expresses things I’ve always felt about the ‘dangers’ of Internet usage saturation.

Though he’s not anti-technology, Dr. Bugeja often lectures students about “interpersonal intelligence” – knowing when, where and for what purpose technology is most appropriate.

He points out the students he’s seen walking across campus, holding hands with significant others while talking on cellphones to someone else. He’s also observed them in coffee shops, surrounded by people, but staring instead at a computer screen.

“True friends,” he tells them, “need to learn when to stop blogging and go across campus to help a friend.”

The article talks about this one particular guy who closes his Facebook and MySpace accounts to make a statement. Anyways here’s the article I’m referring to. Interesting read.

Monday Monday Monday

I remember as a kid that Barbershops were always closed on Mondays. Do you remember? The thinking was that if they were open on Saturdays, that they should then be off Sunday and Monday. What a bummer if you went on a Monday, expecting a nice trim; and then discover that they are closed. Lazy Stinking Barbers!

Well much like a barber, all the pastoral staff at my church (which I am a part of) are off on Mondays. It’s taken years to get used to seeing Monday as a really good day, and not something to be dreaded. It’s the only day that I’m usually unbothered and unfettered. Pastors really could use more of these days, in my little opinion. You might think, then what day do we despise and not want to see happen if it’s not Mondays? Well, I can only speak for myself and say that those days do not exist in my world anymore. Seriously, what better job is there in the entire world. Sure, I work LONG Sundays and most of my free time is constantly being taken by ‘special activities’ related to church functions and events; but my job is super great, and I still look forward to it most days.

Anyways, the LittlePastor is back in business. If you are familier with this little blog you will find the new bog to be much less anonymous than before. I still won’t publicly be mentioning the exact details and names of people I deal with in my little life, but if you really want to know what church I work at, feel free to send over an email. It’s not so much a secret, just trying to maintain some kind of privacy.
